Battersea’s waterside homes are becoming the area’s sought-after buys. Those with a keen eye for financials are attracted by the low council taxes, though the promise of afternoons spent browsing new boutiques, delis and artisans is just as attractive.

Balham

Growing increasingly popular, the amenities in Balham have dramatically improved in recent years. Cutting-edge clubs that once spawned legendary comics are still attracting buzzing crowds looking to enjoy Balham’s nightlife scene. Quieter pursuits can be found on the commons, with cricket, football and cycling proving popular.

Homes here are diverse in style and stature. Smart studio flats provide a base for young professionals, while larger properties make ideal family homes.

Brixton

Historic Brixton holds the enviable position of being one of London’s most unique districts.
