The best in the business
Underpinned by a culture built on energy, agility, professionalism and knowledge, our local teams live and breathe our values. That means we go to great lengths to get the best results for our clients.
Local know-how, better results
Our clients benefit from better results because we intimately understand – and are proud to be a part of – the communities in which we operate.Located principally in the London Borough of Lewisham, Honor Oak sits between Forest Hill, Brockley and East Dulwich, offering residents a tranquil location with swift connections to central London. Its distinctive name comes from the historic “Oak of Honor,” an oak tree under which Queen Elizabeth I is said to have picnicked in 1602.
Originally part of the Great North Wood and largely rural until the 19th century, this enclave grew steadily with the expansion of the railway network. Today, it balances charming period homes with modern developments, celebrating both tradition and modern community life. At the heart of the area, the bustling high street near Honor Oak Park station offers independent shops, cafés and acclaimed restaurants.
Honor Oak features many Victorian and Edwardian terraced houses, often with generous gardens and period features that appeal to families and upsizers. The district also includes semi-detached homes and converted apartments, offering choices for a range of requirements.
Recent years have seen some new builds close to the station, while larger new developments can be found in neighbouring Catford and Forest Hill. The mix of architectural styles and community spirit makes this a desirable spot for buyers and tenants looking for character, green space and easy access to central London.
The neighbourhood has an impressive dining scene, with standout highlights such as Babur, a gourmet Indian restaurant celebrated in London guides, and Mamma Dough, famous for its sourdough pizzas and local craft ales. A much-loved Sardinian trattoria, Le Querce, adds to the dynamic culinary mix. The community is served by a variety of artisan delis, specialist shops, convenience stores and beauty salons. The weekly market and events at nearby green spaces add to the area’s lively yet laid-back feel.
One of Honor Oak’s biggest draws is its proximity to green open spaces. Blythe Hill Fields is a popular park that offers opportunities for walking, jogging and picnics, while One Tree Hill Nature Reserve provides a tranquil retreat for wildlife enthusiasts and birdwatchers, but also delivers panoramic views of London’s skyline. To the south, residents can enjoy the leafy expanses of nearby Horniman Museum and Gardens, with 16 acres of meadows and wildlife gardens.
This location offers a choice of excellent transport options. Honor Oak Park train station is served by London Overground and Southern Rail, connecting commuters to London Bridge in about 15 minutes and offering routes to Victoria, Highbury & Islington and more. Numerous bus routes connect the area to Lewisham, Peckham and beyond. Because of its elevated position, the area has some hills, but cyclists and walkers can take advantage of routes to Greenwich Park and central London.
