Shoreditch

This district opened the first ever theatre in 1576 and once rivalled the West End for music hall and theatre offerings. Those days may be behind Shoreditch, but the creative industry has stayed - albeit now with more technical advances.

Converted industrial spaces provide the modernity Silicon Roundabout innovators might be seeking, while imposing houses near Victoria Park attract families looking for green space and a family home.

Bethnal Green

Much like Shoreditch, Bethnal Green has made good use of its industrial spaces to create property hotspots for young professionals. That said, period properties are available - particularly near the ever-popular flower market.

Transport links serve the area well, though at the weekend, you’ll be keen to stay local and explore Bethnal Green’s independent stores. Rare finds can be tracked down in the vintage boutiques and vinyl stores.

Dalston

Culturally-diverse Dalston has a strong sense of community that has seen the area flourish with new ventures. Restaurants and bars tend to be commonly frequented with creatives looking for the next big thing.

New developments have seen Dalston lose some of its much-loved Georgian buildings, though it's done nothing to stop the ever-flourishing housing market.

Hackney

Fast-growing Hackney is attracting global attention, andot just for its sought-after historic terraces and contemporary developments.

Edgy retail experiments are boosting the area’s shopping selection allowing independents to garner footfall while well-known brands flourish too. Festivals, events and smaller, diverse museums complete the cultural picture.

Hoxton

Entrepreneurs and start-up venture owners are drawn to Hoxton as much for its buzzing, trendy bar scene as the property market.

Lack of available development land has led developers to move to a more boutique style. Edwardian and Victorian terraces are rare - and savvy investors are snapping up properties for reasonable prices.
