Despite being the patron saint of Ireland, St Patrick was born in Britain. So this weekend, it only makes sense to embellish yourself in anything emerald and celebrate the luckiest isle around.

If you really want to get into the spirit of things, head over to Trafalgar Square from midday on Sunday, where you can watch as floats and marching bands take to the streets in a flurry of green. Over 125,000 Londoners and visitors will be gathering to see this parade, which passes through Whitehall and Haymarket.
FEST Camden
Given that Guinness is Ireland’s most famous beer, you shouldn’t sip on anything other than this dry stout. FEST Camden is offering a three-course brunch, appropriately complemented by bottomless Guinness. Irish favourites, such as colcannon, Guinness pie and desserts doused in Baily’s whipped cream will be on the menu.
Although this event might be more subdued than others, celebrating Ireland’s culture through film is a great option. This will be the festival’s eighth year of showcasing the very best in Irish cinema. You can also expect director Q&As along with exhibitions and workshops at Regent Street Cinema.
Those wanting to bring out their inner Michael Flatley can let loose at Wembley’s Boxpark. From 4pm, the traditional Irish band, The Shipsters, will be playing at this family-friendly event, and visitors can also tuck into Irish cuisine while watching comedy acts and dance troupes.
